HOPE - LA MONARCHA

Hope La Monarcha: A Symbol of Transformation Takes Flight

Zion, IL — Hope La Monarcha, a striking wooden sculpture standing over six feet tall, has been brought to life by local artist Oscar (Alex) Ceja, a proud resident of Zion. Designed to showcase the remarkable transformation of the monarch butterfly, this handcrafted piece captures both the delicate beauty and enduring strength of one of nature’s most iconic creatures.

Crafted with care and vision, Hope La Monarcha is more than an art piece—it is a symbol of renewal, resilience, and the power of transformation. Each detail reflects Ceja’s deep appreciation for the monarch butterfly’s journey, as well as his commitment to bringing meaningful, inspiring art to the community.

After its debut at the Zinnia and Monarch Festival in Zion, Hope La Monarcha will embark on a tour, offering communities the opportunity to experience the sculpture’s artistry and message of hope firsthand. The tour will highlight the cultural, environmental, and spiritual significance of the monarch butterfly, inviting audiences to reflect on their own paths of change and growth.

“Just like the monarch, we all go through seasons of transformation,” said Ceja. “My goal is to remind people of the beauty that can come from change—and to share a piece of hope wherever the journey leads.”
